My Testimony: I was raised on a farm in southern Nebraska in a Christian family. Regular attendance to a local Church was a given and due to the teachings of that church and my family, I lived a fairly moral life. I am sure that I heard the Gospel message, but to me such things as where I would spend eternity were ideas to ponder as I would get older. I never once considered that my life could end anytime, even at an early age. After high school, I attended technical schooling in Denver for electronics engineering, and enjoyed the new location, the schooling, and the new friends very much. One of my school chums would occasionally invite me to attend Church with him at South Sheridan Baptist. Again, I know the Gospel message was presented, but I felt that was something to deal with later in life, when a person would be considering the end of his life, in my mind, my life was just beginning.

After school was completed, I knew I would be drafted, the Army had already sent me for a physical exam. Thus, I volunteered for enlistment in the Navy, listing Norfolk, VA as my preference for duty station after boot camp. My desires meant very little, I was assigned to a Amphibious Landing Craft in California, ready to deploy for Viet Nam. God used that experience to “wake me up” to the fact that my life could end at any moment. After four years in the Navy, two and a half in Viet Nam area, I returned to Nebraska and was hired as an Engineer at the local TV station. While working there, my fiancé and I were invited to attend a home Bible study group, both of us learned that we were lost in our sinful condition, were bound for a Christ-less eternity, but God had provided His Son Jesus to take the penalty of our Sin and give us eternal life by his death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. Both Karen and I accepted Jesus as our personal Savior at an Evangelistic meeting in March of 1972. Although I cannot repay Jesus for what He has done for me, I would wish to serve Him with my talents and thus have joined The Praise Network to help spread the Gospel Message and build up those who accept it.
